An allergen free playgroundWe know how much it sucks to be allergic to specific kinds of substances, for example the pollen of a flower. But, in our parks we ensure that you can also be included into our playground. In our Stonebridge Public School park, we are planning to include flowers that do not trigger an allergic reaction. We will also implement this idea into any future designs.

Outdoor ClassroomSince the playground we are building is near Stonebridge Public School we must create an environment that allows the classes from the school to learn outdoors. We believe that an outdoor classroom would allow student's to be more focused and more attentive, because student's from grades 1 - 4 love to go outdoors and it works as an incentive to behave. If we combine the outdoors with a classroom, the kids would be more interested and engaged into that activity.
On the other hand, what is an outdoor classroom? An outdoor classroom is similar to a normal classroom, it is just outdoors and sometimes there is no shade. However, there are no whiteboards, no desks, no books, etc. Instead, it is just an area with a few rock benches for a class to sit in as a group to talk and interact together. |
Eco-friendlyPlayPoint Canada uses many aspects that will contribute to the environment.
Supports kids with disabilitiesWe know that there will always will be children living with disabilities, and we know for parents with these children struggle to find play areas for their kids. Every child needs to have play in their lives no matter their case, so we want to help provide a fun experience for these children as well.
Some components we have in our parks include:
These are just a few examples of what we provide, but there will be other features. |
Rubber flooring > ConcreteIn our parks we use rubber flooring instead of concrete. This is because sand doesn't always stay in one area. Sometimes the sand is blown onto the concrete and this would make a slippery surface. Since sand are tiny rocks, they are easy to slip on. So, we wouldn't want children to be slipping and getting injured. Therefore, we use rubber tiles. Rubber tiles protects you from getting injured. And, it isn't slippery. Rubber is basically a material that is similar to concrete, but it is more safe.
The tiles we use are equipped with bounce back technology, and will be able to protect children from a height up to 8 meters. We found the tiles to be an appropriate substitute for sand, because it works the same but it is more sustainable as it does not need a lot of care for maintenance. |
